My friend who reads 70+ books a year recently commented that she forgets a book 10 seconds after she finishes it, and I’m fascinated. Fellow writers, does this give you a lot of feelings? (I have many.) Super readers, do you share my friend’s experience?

@belle_inreality I have a bad memory as both a reader and a writer. I even forget my own plots sometimes!! So I can’t blame readers for doing the same.

Trying to keep up with all these responses!😅My initial reaction to her comment as a writer was, oof; I hope people don't find my writing forgettable. And my initial reaction as a reader was, oof; I remember everything I read (though I read 10-20 books a year). To each their own!
