Today we said goodbye to Sidney, one of our Urban Search and Rescue Dogs, as he digs his paws into his well deserved retirement. Sidney has served for almost 8 years with @firesearchdogs and the turn out for his guard of honour shows how loved he is. #Pawesome

Today, we honour the bravery and sacrifice of firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty on Firefighters Memorial Day. At midday, our colleagues will be holding a minutes silence to pay tribute on this important day.#FirefightersMemorialDay

Last week, we hosted the passing out parade for our newest wholetime firefighters at our service training centre. Did you know that the passing out parade is the official graduation ceremony following the completion of the initial recruits course. #PassingOutParade

Highlighting the importance of our pre training checks, our instructors stumbled upon a nest of baby rabbits in one of our hot fire galleries. These have been safely removed, and a local wildlife rehabilitation centre has been contacted. #NotJustFires #EasterBunny

Last month, firefighters attended 16 fires caused by heating. Some were minor incidents, some were serious fires causing damage to homes. Be extra cautious using heating appliances and test smoke alarms weekly. Please don't think this could never happen to you. #BeSafeAndSave
