@johnwread @Bill_Vicenzino I agree. In our paper no causation implied. Physical and psychological remain inseparable thus temporal relationship is somewhat irrelevant. Interventions addressing any problem (MSK or other) should address both concomitantly.

@LiamRobMac @Bill_Vicenzino Given the extraordinary level of psychosocial problems in the general community, might this just be another statistical association that should not be used to imply causation? Similar to the extraordinary level of MRI degenerative tissue changes in the asymptomatic community?

@johnwread @Bill_Vicenzino Kinesiophobia was prevalent. And psych features associated to PFP-related disability. Not all psych features require psych intervention, but ALL need acknowledging. Pain has a profound psychological impact. Impossible to deliver a physical intervention without considering psych.

@Bill_Vicenzino @LiamRobMac Seems to say that psychological profiles were NOT significantly from controls. Similar to MRI showing asymptomatic abnormalities that do not require Rx, psychosocial problems in an asymptomatic MSK setting are also widespread and their significance should not be over interpreted.

@kaymcrossley @Bill_Vicenzino The biggest finding IMO was the small to moderate effects in all measures of pain and disability found with observation only. Research by virtue evoking improvements without intervention.
