Your work has been superb - the pre-election explainer and the Bokor scams stories in particular were top notch journalism. Keep up the great work.

@Liam_Cochrane Agree with you but @cambojanews is trying its best to be an independent daily newsroom despite the current environment and lack of resources.

I’ve been (variously) visiting, living in and reporting on Cambodia for 20yrs now. I’ve never seen such limited freedom of expression or such fear among the country’s media sector. Not a single daily independent newsroom exists and many reporters are on the Govt payroll.

Congratulations to Mech Dara, who received a Hero Award for his reporting on human trafficking and scam centers in #Cambodia. Noting also that all three of his former workplaces have been shut down or co-opted. rfa.org/english/news/c… via

@Liam_Cochrane @c_s_wallace Oh, how insulting to you, Liam. It’s quite depressing to hear such evidence that the intellectual capacity of management at our once mighty @ABCaustralia has decayed so far. Hopefully they’re demanding @PhillipAdams_1 justify lingering in cushiest job ABC offers, too.

Classic. As part of a long-running review of ABC pay conditions, I've been asked whether I worked 8.5 hour days during the Thai cave rescue. Deep breaths & try not to be insulted, as I enter a 3rd round of providing "evidence" to ABC that foreign correspondents don't work 9-5.

@BelindaJOConnor Thanks Belinda. It was a job I absolutely loved and happily went the extra yard to try to make sure Australians got the best SEAsian coverage possible. As did the wonderful Thai staff at the bureau.

@Liam_Cochrane I remember well your very frequent reports at the time. It was very obvious that you were working longer than 8.5 hrs a day. I'm sorry they haven't rewarded/acknowledged the exceptional job you did
