They were hosted by our board member, Michael Gough Director of Llandrindod Wells haulier, @aegoughandsons who set out some of the challenges facing our industry. Increased fuel prices amid the Middle East conflict was the key topic, as diesel prices have increased by around 40 percent. We explained why we’re calling on the Government to introduce an essential user rebate scheme to help transport operators manage costs, and to scrap fuel duty increases planned from September. The Exchequer is receiving millions of pounds extra each day in VAT which strengthens the case for a reduction in the duty which is pushing up inflation. Operators hosting politicians and sharing their experiences and ideas is a great way of getting our industry’s key messages across, so we’re always grateful when members take the time out to do so. #Haulage #Transport #FuelDuty

The next WRU chair should learn from Collier-Keywood’s mistakes. Welsh Rugby is a grassroots sport that brings communities together. The WRU’s plans to cut the Ospreys threaten to hollow out the game in some of its strongest areas. They must be scrapped.

This is absolutely abhorrent. A Nazi salute is one of the most vile symbols imaginable. Anyone associated with this has no place in our politics. Nigel Farage must suspend this candidate immediately.

If Kemi Badenoch were leading our country she would get us all killed. At times of crisis across the globe, there is a dire need for calm and sensible political leadership. One wrong call could put our country in grave danger. Kemi is not calm and not sensible.

Every time I ask if Wales is getting a fair deal, UK government ministers keep telling me to ‘be grateful’ or ‘show more gratitude’. Meanwhile I see our economy shrinking, people leaving my constituency for work elsewhere and inequality between England and Wales growing.

This morning, I attended a meeting with the Energy Minister to raise the impact of the emerging energy crisis on off-grid homes in rural areas. I raised both concerns about heating oil and LPG - unfortunetly I did not receive the reassurances my constituents are looking for. 👇

Last week, I again raised the appalling waiting list policy impacting Powys patients seeking treatment in Herefordshire and Shropshire. Denying patients treatment on financial grounds instead of clinical need is a moral outrage, yet no Minister is taking responsibility.
