You will be missed. It was great to work with you and I can’t wait to read the book!!
Sanchia Berg@Sanchia7

📢Personal news 📢 - I’ll be leaving BBC staff at the end of August . I'm working on a book proposal with @davidhigham and I intend to work freelance for the BBC and others  in future. I’m proud of the original and investigative work I’ve done over decades, with brilliant colleagues,  breaking stories on so many issues on @BBCR4Today and @BBCnews. I'm especially proud of my recent work on Family Courts. It’s changed the law - helped open up these powerful courts to all journalists - and I plan to continue with it.  You can find me here, on Linkedin and at sanchiaberg@icloud.com.

50 years ago today Margret Thatcher took over the Conservative party. Her legacy and impact are still felt in large parts of Kent. From the miners of east Kent who still talk of those strikes, to those in old Kent postcodes of Bexley who talk of her beating Heath in 1975.....

#OnThisDay 1975: Margaret Thatcher became the first female leader of a political party in the UK after defeating Edward Heath in the Conservative leadership election.

Sad to say my time as Medway Council leader is now over.... Regular service with @vincemaple has been resumed much to most of Medways delight.

🌟 Start spreading the NEWS! 🌟 I’m thrilled to share some exciting personal news: I’ve officially joined The New York Times as their weather reporter in London! It’s an absolute honour to contribute to such a renowned global news organisation, reporting on world weather events, alongside an incredible team from the NYT's weather data team. To kick things off, I’m gifting you my very first piece (linked below) —it’s all about Britain’s white Christmases ❄️🎄. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it! Thank you, as always, for your continued love and support. Here’s to new adventures! 📰✨ @nytimes #uksnow #WhiteChristmas #Weather nytimes.com/2024/12/20/wea…

@faisalislam My brother lives in Rusafa right in the city centre and he said the torrential rain just didn’t reach them that night, stopping a few miles away - they only had about 5mm. It is the most glorious city though as you say. I go often.

Others have pointed to this… and the fact that the River was rerouted after previous floods in the 50s … not sure if this means the floods that hit the south of the city were spared the densely populated centre, or if its impossible to tell…

It’s so sad that a city so glorious and beautiful as Valencia has been hit so hard by these floods… it’s simply one of the best places for a family holiday in Europe… incredibly welcoming, surrounding orange groves, one of the stand out features in that they made the old path
