What I am loving right now is reading on Facebook the beautifully articulated thoughts of my 92 year old father to a very right wing cousin. Growing up in an indigenous community means our view of the indigenous voice is very different to some.

I emailed a friend today and got a reply from their EA, who booked me in for a chat next month. A small part of me wanted to say 'don't you know who I am?' but instead graciously accepted the meeting invite and the gift of their time

@MST_Writes My eldest son did the same thing. In the ACT it's an accredited stream instead of tertiary. He was much better for the choice and without the pressure he discovered he's a good student and loves to learn (his words).

My daughter is in Year 12. A low-stress version of Year 12 because she decided to go 'unscored'. That is, no ATAR score and therefore no exams. She still has to do the work, and pass, but that's it. After my initial shock, I've come to love her decision. Here's why ... 1/6

Yesterday I took my Dad to farewell his oldest friend. They met in 1948 when they were 17, had birthdays a day apart and remained great mates until his friend's death 10 days ago at 92. I am in awe at their 75 years of friendship.
