As a professional who works in a healthcare sector that doesn’t have its balls in a corporate insurance vice grip….this is an enormous cry for help from the masses suffering at the hands of a greedy system. 💔

Post-trauma with a cervical fracture and my doctors wanted me to eat and have a bowel movement before discharge. Here I am in the cone of shame, feeling like one of my GI exploratory patients.

@txdvm1 I got one as a Christmas gift from a boyfriends grandmother. When we split, she asked for me to return it because she gave me that so I could bake for him. 🤮I now have a beautiful light and shadow edition my fiance got me. He jokingly said if we ever split, I can keep it. 🤣

It was incredibly freeing to realize as an “old maid” in my evangelical family (so like at 25) that I could just go out and buy a kitchenaid. I didn’t have to earn a kitchenaid by landing a husband, and was quite capable of using it even for just myself.

It’s been a long time since I had a “ride every colt in the barn, I don’t care how much you sweat” day and it’s been glorious. 🥰

@swksfarmer We were hauling ass to get oats baled that already got 1.4” on them and flood risk fields cut yesterday. How much rain did you get? My gauge was sitting at 2” before I left for work and it was still coming down. Sorry Mother Nature is so cruel sometimes.

Wondering why I worked so f*cking hard to get a degree just to keep working so f*cking hard to pay off this degree. Maybe I’m burnt out. Maybe I have too much on my plate. Maybe it’s just a bad day. Maybe I just need to vent. I don’t know.

@LizForker But the same ones making us feel that way will complain and cry that none of these new vets stick around and now they can’t get a vet at 2 am. 🤦🏽‍♀️

@sweatPANCE4life @txdvm1 Very similar. Why endure the stress and burdens of practice when I can make the same money working set hours using my bachelors degree? It’s a very multifaceted issue but financial burden and burnout are huge components.

@LibbyLately @txdvm1 From what I understand, the vet shortage is similar to the nursing shortage in that there are enough trained professionals, they just aren't practicing anymore because of financial or stress reasons. Seems adding a vet APP won't solve those issues either

I’m worried about inserting a mid level practitioner into Vet Med when we can’t even pay our techs/nurses a living wage. Anyone else have any thoughts?
