Why does the government have to drop their taxes off gas? Why can the oil companies just drop their prices? Taxes buy Canadians things but oil company billion dollar profits doesn't do anything for us.

@alleria_eh Why are you so against letting ppl keep more of their hard earned money? Dont over estimate tax cuts, they are one of the best power tools to spur on economic growth.

@alleria_eh Most of the pumps are franchised. You’re basically telling someone else to take in less money so you can buy more.

My mom got mad when I told her I would rather live on my own that keep paying her $600 a month in rent. I'm 25 years old and have been paying $60 a week in rent to my parents for a while now. I recently landed a decent paying job and this morning, I received a message from my mom telling me that from now on, the rent would be $150 per week. I text her back, saying I would rather live elsewhere. I pay for my own food and I'm not willing to pay $150 per week just for a room to sleep in at my own mothers house. With that kind if money, I could rent a small apartment or even split the rent with a friend for less.

@Moonlight_myths Where are you going to live for less than $600 a month lmao. They raised you, fed you and cared enough to put you on the right path that enables you to get a decent job. They offer cheap rent and yet you cry about it on X. Sickening.

LCBO is a public option retail store focused on alcohol. SaskTel is a public option telecom company. ICBC is a public option car insurance company. Ontario, Sask and BC aren’t communist yet. If you don’t like the model, that’s fine. But stop the pearl clutching.

Catherine Cullen: [Avi Lewis] does not want to nationalize grocery stores... he wants there to be publicly run grocery stores Fred DeLorey: Maybe that's a slippery slope to his eventual plan to nationalize, but even that -- having Canada Post delivering groceries, is that next on his plan?

@Jenny_1884 Your gen pumped asset bubbles pricing out your kids & grandkids, brought in excessive immigrants which is erasing the culture for your kids/grandkids and kept electing the very politicians who did it. Boomers sold out their kids/grandkids all so they could live well.

When I married in 1981 we both worked & most of our salary went on paying the mortgage as the interest rate was 15% at the time. Everything we owned was 2nd hand & we never went out for meals as we couldn’t afford to. We rented our TV Went to the launderette every weekend as had no washing machine. Only had new clothes at Xmas & birthdays as presents. We went without until we could save enough to pay for something. It’s always been hard whether you are young or old. So those out there that think we had it easy we didn’t. Our governments are to blame, not the old.

Liberals built a national energy company so Cdns could benefit from Cdn resources. Conservatives sold it off. Petro-Can is now part of Suncor, a private company. The public stake is gone. And this is the pattern: Build it,sell it, lose control and says it’s the Libs fault.

Government run grocery stores are a GREAT IDEA. They aim to break even as opposed to making a profit. It will help bring prices DOWN and fill stomachs UP.

@MondoABx Aren’t companies legally required to have reclaim funds for well clean up? Worst case OWA does the clean up if company goes bust. Sure there is unpaid property taxes weighing on communities. But is your argument we shouldn’t drill oil then?

@Garnet_2203 Because boomers and seniors keep voting for the folks who print $$ to pump asset bubbles, without understanding inflation and how your dollar depreciates. Boomers probably some of the most retarded generation to ever exist.

We paid into the system our entire lives. Worked. Paid taxes. Bought homes. Now when we need care, we’re told it’s $4,000–$8,000 a month or sell everything. Why are seniors being pushed to pay corporations like Chartwell Retirement Residences… …instead of accessing the public long-term care we paid into? Because Doug Ford didn’t keep up with public long-term care. Why should we be forced to sell our homes, homes meant to be passed on to our children, just to age safely? We want to be able to pass something on to give our kids even a small chance in Ontario. A chance to maybe put a down payment on a home. A start in life. This isn’t normal. We cannot normalize this.
Bev 🇨🇦@Garnet_2203

My mother-in-law is in hospital, unstable, struggling to breathe, not safe on her own. And someone walks in with a brochure for Chartwell Retirement Residences. Not a care plan. A sales pitch. In an Ontario hospital. This is the reality after years of underfunding by Doug Ford, families pushed to “find somewhere to go.”

@MondoABx Most oil companies are HQ’d in Calgary. But their $$ generated comes from the rural areas where oil rigs are. You are counting the urban contribution wrong. Alberta doesn’t need any other province to help feed its ppl.

@gator_gum Just admit your wrong and take back your retarded post. CPP likely won’t even be able to be funded by the time the next gen needs it. We have major deficits and are probs already in a recession. Then folks like you somehow think additional govt revenue won’t help anything.

Dear 99.9% of Canadians, Your life would not change a single bit if a pipeline was built. It wouldn't fix housing, grocery prices, your perceived issues with immigration... It wouldn't make gas suddenly cheaper. Stop pandering to billionaires and mega corps, it's ridiculous.
