This camera was sitting a few football fields from the SLS rocket at Pad 39B for days before launch, baking in the Florida sun, surviving rain, humidity, and whatever else the Cape threw at it. No photographer behind the viewfinder. Just a camera, a sound trigger, and a bet. The way pad remotes work: you set your camera up days in advance, dial in your composition, lock everything down, and walk away. You don’t touch it again until after the launch. The shutter fires on sound activation with a @MiopsTrigger smart+ trigger. With SLS, the four RS-25 engines ignite six seconds before the solid rocket boosters, so the camera is already firing before the vehicle even leaves the pad. You get home, pull the card, and find out if you nailed it or if a bird landed on your lens two days ago and left your a present and you got 400 photos of soemthing crappy. There’s no formula for protecting your gear this close. Some photographers build wooden boxes with doors that pop open. Some use plastic bags and tape. Some do plastic or metal barn door rigs on hinges. I tend to leave mine open just in plastic rain covers because boxes limit my composition and setup time, but that means your cameras are more exposed to the elements and whatever energy and debris comes off the pad. You’re basically gambling a camera body every time you set one. That’s what I love about this genre. There’s no playbook. You make it up as you go. Not sure if you know this, Martina, but for nearly 5 decades the UN has promised Israel that southern Lebanon would be kept free of terror orgs (PLO then, Hezbollah now) threatening northern Israel. That promise has been repeatedly broken. UN Resolution 425 was passed in 1978 after the PLO attacked civilians in northern Israel and deployed UNIFIL to secure the area south of the Litani River. The PLO returned under UNIFIL's watch and kept attacking northern Israel. In 2006, after a devastating war that Hezbollah started, the UN passed Resolution 1701 explicitly demanding Hezbollah withdraw north of the Litani River, which the Lebanese government even signed onto. Hezbollah ignored all of it and over the next two decades built thousands of rocket positions, tunnels, and bunkers right under UNIFIL's nose. UNIFIL did nothing. Lebanon did nothing. The UN documented the violations and did nothing. Hezbollah started attacking Israel on October 8, 2023 and for two years kept launching rockets, paralyzing all of northern Israel, displacing tens of thousands of Israelis (many of them Arab and Druze) seeking shelter, and turning cities like Metula and Kiryat Shmona into ghost towns. At the end of 2024, another ceasefire agreement made the same demand for Hezbollah to withdraw north of the Litani river. Hezbollah violated it again, joining the Iran War. Multiple guarantees. Multiple violations. All by these terror orgs. And Israeli civilians paid the price. Israel has had enough: neither the Lebanese government nor the UN have the capability nor the will to enforce these commitments. Israel is now justly taking matters into their hands, and anyone who's clutching their pearls about it needs to explain exactly what it is Israel should do instead. Otherwise, they're being either willfully ignorant or dishonest.

Bad weather is also limiting Israel's ability to hunt missile launchers. 3) Israel believes the US must act decisively to open the straitsa, warning that allowing Iran to keep it closed would be a major political win for Tehran. Israeli sources estimate a US operation there would be "the final chord of the war" and take about a month. 4) He highlighted economic damage to Iran — 70% of steel production capacity hit, GDP reduced by 2–3%. He also discussed potential energy pipeline routes through Saudi Arabia to bypass Hormuz, and mentioned growing Arab state cooperation with Israel. 5) Netanyahu stated Israel will refuse any externally imposed ceasefire in Lebanon, insisting it must remain Israel's independent decision. 6) Netanyahu criticized what he called a "massive depression industry" working to suppress Israeli public morale during the war. Netanyahu knows the US and Israel are losing the war and that Israeli public opinion is turning against him. He hopes to trap the US into an extended land war to change the equation.

Wenn der Absender, der sich hinter dem hübschen Schild "Liberty Truth" verbirgt, mir den Staat in der Hand messianischer Fanatiker zeigt, der angeblich "Frieden sucht", dann könnten wir ja darüber sprechen. Stattdessen sehe ich gerade zwei besonders fürchterliche Regime im Nahen Osten, von denen keinerlei Bereitschaft zu Frieden ausgeht. Einen IRAN, der seine eigenen Menschen brutal unterdrückt, quält, verfolgt und großmäulig einem anderen Staat, Israel etwas androht, das völlig ausgeschlossen ist, dass der Iran es wahr zu machen in der Lage wäre. (Ein Iran in dem übrigens, die größte jüdische Gemeinde im gesamten Nahen Osten lebt. Nicht brutal verfolgt, aber diskriminiert als Bürger zweiter Klasse, nicht unähnlich den Palästinensern mit israelischer Staatsangehörigkeit in Israel.) Ein ISRAEL als eine in seiner Existenz militärisch unangreifbare Atommacht, das selbst andere Staaten immer wieder nach Belieben angreift. Ein Israel, das vor allem EIN ANDERES VOLK IN SEINER EXISTENZ BEDROHT, der einheimischen Bevölkerung Palästinas ihr Existenzrecht bestreitet und deren vollständige "Eliminierung" durch Vertreibung und Tod betreibt. Die Vertreibung und Tötung von Palästinensern läuft auf Hochtouren in Ostjerusalem, im Westjordanland und als "totaler Krieg" Israels in Gaza mit dort Zehntausenden getöteter palästinensischer Zivilisten, vor allem Kindern und Frauen. Die vielfachen Drohungen israelischer Führer, man müsse die Palästinenser samt ihren Kindern auslöschen, sind keine großmäuligen Drohungen wie jene der Mullahs im Iran. Israels immer zunehmender offen rassistische Führung meint, was sie sagt. I R A N ist eine hässliche Diktatur, die von den Iranern gestürzt werden muss, so wie der verheerende Einfluß des Iran in Ländern wie dem Libanon dort von den Libanesen. I S R A E L erweist sich als rassistischer, land- und machthungriger Staat von ganz anderem Kaliber. Weil er nicht von innen heraus gestoppt werden kann, da ein zu großer Teil seiner Bevölkerung, einschließlich der "Opposition", Armee und der Justiz die Politik des Regimes unterstützt. Israel zu stoppen und Frieden in Nahost zu erzwingen ist deshalb umso mehr Pflicht der Weltgemeinschaft und der Bevölkerung in den Staaten, die Israel sponsern und ihm seine verbrecherische Politik erlauben.
