@thejackhopkins When my daughter was in a public school 8th grade, her teacher went around the room asking everyone what religion they were, after telling the class her religion. I was so angry.
Looks like I’m going to be having a sit down with my sons health teacher.
Yesterday, they were asked to write down someone in politics they think is doing a good job. (Keep in mind, this is Health class)
Then, they went around the room, and he asked them who they wrote down, and why they think they are doing a good job.
When my son said “Joe Biden” his teacher shot back, “You must never want to have a 401k!” The teacher then went on to make several disparaging remarks about President Biden.
My son is 14. He didn’t even know what the hell a 401k was.
I’ll actually be talking to the Superintendent, and principle, first.
If you are teaching Health…then teach health. Oh, and don’t play games to intentionally set a kid up for ridicule in front of their peers.
Wow. THIS BOOK. One of the best things I’ve read in a while. Brilliant, inventive storytelling by @ChristinaDG. Masterful cartooning by @pichikui. Spectacular color by @larkpien. A tour de force that is as powerful and important as it is un-put-down-able. GET IT on August 2!

"He suggests ways to use stories to heal, to inspire, to clarify, to teach compassion, and to connect. He reminds us that stories matter because connection matters. Because, as he says, matching the right child with the right book is "a sacred task". @kaaauthor@MrSchuReads
Today in 2007 #HarryPotter movie #5 premiered: Order of the Phoenix. All the movie adaptations did a great deal of violence to integrity of characters & storylines in the books, but some were more successful than others. Which movie adaptation is your fav? Which is the worst?
Has there ever been a sweeter story in all the world than Odder?! 😭 Animal-loving kids will adore it, educators will cherish it, & parents will also see something incredibly specia in this.
A true gem. We are forever changed by @kaaauthor’s perfect little novel-in-verse. 🦦

@DanRather I might understand your point if Texas wasn't passing rigid laws to limit choice and discussion and voting rights. Radical action leads to a radical response.
