We've had some great feedback recently 👇 We’re proud to share some brilliant feedback for Leon and the wider team at We Build Recruitment: “I’ve had a great experience working with Leon and We Build Recruitment. Leon is consistently reliable, professional, and helpful. He always goes above and beyond to make sure our staffing needs are met, often at short notice, and never hesitates to put in extra effort to find the right people for the job. Communication with Leon is excellent. He’s responsive, honest, and proactive in solving any issues that arise. It’s clear that he genuinely cares about providing a high level of service, and this makes a big difference and increases our trust in who he is able to place on our projects. I would also like to recognise the wider team within the company, including the accounts department and other recruitment consultants, who have all delivered a brilliant and professional service. Everyone I’ve dealt with has been efficient and a pleasure to deal with, which reflects very positively on the company as a whole. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Leon and the entire team to anyone looking for a dependable and high-quality labour supplier.” - Leading Power Contractor Feedback like this means a lot to us. We pride ourselves on being responsive, proactive and committed to delivering the right people to projects around the UK. If you’re looking for a dependable labour partner who genuinely cares about your projects and delivers high-quality workers when you need them, our team is ready to support you. #WeBuildRecruitment #ConstructionRecruitment #ClientFeedback #RecruitmentPartner

Some big moves are happening in the power sector ⚡️ You may have seen Leon's recent posts on acquisitions in the power sector: some serious moves are being made in what’s shaping up to be a big quarter for the power and energy space 👇 From Aardvarc Electrical Engineers LTD Group joining Constructel Visabeira following its acquisition by MJ Quinn, to STRABAG UK acquiring GTDS from Ethical Power, it is clear that established players are actively strengthening their position in regulated power, high-voltage infrastructure, and grid modernisation. What stands out to us is the consistent focus on specialist capability. High-voltage installation, commissioning expertise, and experienced delivery teams are becoming increasingly valuable as demand across transmission, distribution, EV infrastructure, and wider energy projects continues to grow. This mirrors what we're seeing on the ground: market confidence, continued investment and continued demand for proven talent. Acquisitions create opportunity, but they also place even greater importance on attracting and retaining engineers, commissioning managers, project leaders, and commercial professionals who already understand regulated environments. It will be interesting to see how these businesses scale through their next phase. What impact do you think this level of acquisition activity will have on the power sector over the next few years? 🔋

Why long-term recruitment partnerships work better Using a recruiter short-term might fill a gap, but working with the same recruitment partner long-term solves problems before they even appear. Working as a recruitment partner means we understand your sites, your standards, and the type of people you want in your business for a successful environment. That means less time treading water with the wrong staff, less time spent re-briefing for every new role that comes up, and fewer delays to site. Long-term partnerships mean better planning. In a partnership, we are in a better position to flag upcoming labour risks early, advise on market movement, and build a reliable pool of workers who already know the client, the site, and what’s expected of them. A recruitment partnership is less about filling roles quickly for last-minute requirements and more about providing long-term planning and security for the labour supply to your sites. #RecruitmentPartner #ConstructionRecruitment #RPO

Our top tips to help you land site work Keep your CV simple and relevant. Your trade, key experience, types of sites you’ve worked on, and current tickets should be obvious within seconds. No need for graphics or fancy wording, just make sure your experience and qualifications are clear. Keep your most recent experience at the top of the CV. This is what employers will want to see first Make sure your tickets and cards are up to date and easy to share. If something has expired or is close to expiry, say so early. It avoids any delays when roles come up. Be honest about your experience. If you’ve mainly worked on civils sites, don’t oversell high-spec fit-out work. Securing the right role will always work out better in the long term. The worst thing that can happen is showing up to site and being obviously out of your depth. Finally, be contactable. If you’re actively looking, answer calls, reply to messages, and let recruiters know your availability. Good roles move fast. A bit of prep goes a long way. If you want a second set of eyes on your CV or advice on getting site-ready, we’re always happy to help. #ConstructionRecruitment #WeBuildTheFuture #JobTips #CVTips

January can be a tough month in construction. Uncertainties around work, bad weather, shorter days, poor finances after Christmas, and physical strains of the job quickly build up. Taking into account long hours, early starts, time away from loved ones and job insecurity, it’s easy to see how mental health can suffer. In construction, mental wellness struggles often lack obvious signs; someone sounds more withdrawn, their motivation dips, or they seem stressed. It’s easy to ignore these signs if we are not listening. Supposedly, Blue Monday is the most depressing day of the year, but this issue is not limited to the days we are told to be aware of it. We must make it a part of everyday culture. In workspaces with frequent conversations and regular check-ins, it is safe to speak up and express oneself without judgment. Support isn’t always about solving a problem. More often, it’s listening to a colleague or friend and being there for them. You’re not alone if today feels heavy. If you can look out for somebody on site or you’re in a senior position, a quick ‘check-in’ could make a significant difference to someone’s mental wellbeing. Charities like Mates in Mind exist to support construction workers 24/7 with support lines you can call at anytime and mental health workshops available to educate workers on the signs to look out for. If you or someone else needs help, you can find their support lines with the link below ⬇️ matesinmind.org/need-help #MentalHealth #BlueMonday #ConstructionRecruitment

Reputation is more important than ever in construction, and word travels fast... It’s no longer just word of mouth on site. Conversations are happening on LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and across social media every day. Both good and bad information travels quickly. Operatives talk about where sites are well run, where communication is clear, and where they feel respected. Just as quickly, they talk about poor organisation, last-minute changes, and broken promises. We see the impact of this every day. Sites with a strong reputation fill faster, experience fewer drop-offs, keep people on site longer and attract the top candidates. Even in a candidate’s market, good operatives are keen to commit when they know they’re walking into a site with a good reputation. On the other hand, sites with a poor reputation often struggle regardless of their rate. Labour becomes harder to secure, decisions slow down, and pressure builds across the project. This is where using the right recruitment partner makes a difference. A good recruiter acts as an extension of your site, setting clear expectations, communicating honestly with candidates, and feeding back real insight from the market. That consistency protects your reputation and helps avoid the issues that cause labour to drop off in the first place. In today’s market, reputation isn’t just a reflection of how a site is run; it’s a deciding factor in how easily you secure labour. And social media has made it more powerful than ever. #Reputation #ConstructionRecruitment #2026Construction

Recruitment works best when it’s treated as part of delivery, not something bolted on at the last minute. The clients who involve us early, sometimes just for a quick market sense check, can better plan their approach to labour on site far more effectively. They understand what labour is realistically available, what rates look like, and where pressure points might appear before the job even starts. Of course, you can’t always have the foresight you need in the construction industry, and that’s why we’re here. So when someone drops out at the last minute, your projects don’t get slowed down. Early visibility reduces panic hiring, improves the quality of personnel going on site, and helps things keep moving when something doesn’t go as planned. Having visibility upfront makes getting the right people on site far easier. When recruitment is brought in at the last minute, decisions can become rushed, and options narrow quickly. When it’s part of the plan from the get-go, everything runs smoother. #ConstructionRecruitment #WeBuildTheFuture #2026Construction

One of the biggest challenges we see across construction projects is decisions being made on rate alone. Often, quality service comes at a slight premium to your typical recruitment service. In the short run, this may seem like an easy way to save on staff costs, but more often than not, it ultimately proves more expensive in the long run. We are not and never have been interested in entering a race to the bottom with firms constantly trying to undercut each other and providing a service that reflects this: lacking quality, affecting the timelines of projects and causing costly delays. What we care about is providing a high-quality service to our clients, ensuring that our workers are prepared and qualified for the roles they undertake, and that, from end to end, our service covers every aspect of our clients’ needs. Although premium services can seem expensive in the short term, in the long run, you’ll save by avoiding unvetted workers, unreliable service, and labour not even showing up to the site. #ConstructionRecruitment #WeBuildTheFuture #2026Construction
