There is more grace in Christ than there is weakness in you. Some mornings begin with your body out of bed and your courage still under the covers. A burden you left last night is already waiting at the kitchen table, staring back at you. John says, “For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace” John 1:16. Grace upon grace. One wave reaches your feet before you have finished naming the need. Another gathers behind it. Before yesterday’s mercy has dried on the shore, fresh mercy is already moving toward you. Christ has fullness. His mercy has muscle. Grace does more than comfort tired saints, it carries them. Sometimes the thorn stays. The diagnosis remains or the relationship still aches. Questions follow you into the night and sit beside the bed. Jesus told Paul, “My grace is sufficient for you” 2 Corinthians 12:9. Sufficient means the tear is seen and the next small step comes with mercy beneath it. If the Father gave His Son for my salvation, He will never become stingy when I need grace for today. My strength may leave the room. The grace of God will still be standing there.

What is the significance of being alive unto God? How does it help us in our pursuit of holiness? For one thing, it means we are united with Christ in all His power. It is certainly true we cannot live a holy life in our own strength. Christianity is not a do-it-yourself thing.

This is what I want to share with you today: We're called to incarnate the love of Jesus Christ as we get involved in the lives of our neighbors. To incarnate means to embody or represent in human form - that's what Jesus did when he came to earth and took on flesh. But it's also what we're called to do today, now that Jesus is no longer physically present. In other words, you and I are meant to live as the visible ambassadors of an invisible King. But, the whole plan breaks down if we're invisible in our neighborhood! The first step is to get involved.

Jesus’ joy didn’t stem from circumstances or what people said or thought about Him. His joy came from doing the will of His Father.
