@Damian_Roland @EIP_Institute Don’t need to. Cardiology fears need to be zapped. Deep pondering for ED doctors. In my 10 yrs yet to see a child with chest pain have a cardiac problem. Maybe incidental PFOs & BAVs.

We don't bleed every child with a fever.
We don't send an aspirate on every infant with a snotty nose.
Why do we seem to do an ECG on every child with chest pain?

@NicUof @a_ewer @WestHertsNHS @NHS_RHO It doesn’t increase cardiac workload (that’s what data shows). Most screen positive don’t need a echo as non cardiac causes common reason for screen positivity.

@LifelnFastLane @a_ewer @WestHertsNHS @NHS_RHO Though cost-effective, could this strain cardiac echo demand? Insufficient resources may mean longer waits. Investing in antenatal sonographers for early detection might be wiser; I still see missed cases like TGAs and truncus arteriosus.
