My Annie!! So glad she is part of everyday of my life.

It’s hard to believe that a year ago, we were basically being told that Huckleberry surviving was unlikely… and that we needed to prepare ourselves for the possibility of losing him. Our sweet little lover boy was struggling with painful bladder stones, and there were moments where things felt terrifyingly uncertain. We spent countless hours researching, talking with vets, adjusting diets, trying different hay, carefully measuring ammonium chloride, and desperately hoping we could find the right balance to keep him healthy. Even now, our lives still revolve around monitoring him. We test Huck’s pee every single day to make sure his pH stays in a safer range. We obsess over every little change. We celebrate good days. We worry during bad ones. And honestly, we may never be completely out of the woods with him. But somehow… our little guy is still here. Still following us around for love and attention. Still snuggling. Still being the sweetest, most affectionate little sheep imaginable. Still fighting right alongside us. Animals like Huck remind us that love sometimes looks like persistence. Like late nights, constant monitoring, endless research, and refusing to give up when things feel hopeless. Pumpkin and Charlotte are enjoying a mud bath on this boiling hot spring day. Last I checked it was 93 degrees. Really hope to finish my building projects soon! Too hot to be doing that in summer temps.

Annie insists on giving Huck his bath before she starts her meal. It ain’t easy being a good big sister.

While everyone enjoys their day, I’m desperately trying to finish the turkey and chicken barn. Things are getting close but I still need to do finishing touches including adding fans, the ac/heater unit and lots of caulk and such to get things ready for this weeks move in date. Are Huck and Edna becoming friends?!?

Annie and Huckleberry are still the best of friends. When Annie lamb-sat him in the early days, he used her as a jungle gym (he was so much smaller!) and she was very tolerant of his baby antics. And then he alerted us to Annie having a medical issue by running to her and staying right by her side, looking very concerned. These two have the biggest hearts and purest souls. And both came very close to having their lives cut very short by animal agriculture. We are so happy they found each other here and can spread their love and kindness to all they meet!

Huckleberry believes in the healing power of headbutts. He can’t help it. He just gets so excited to play with Mallory.

Gwen hit the 12 weeks mark today and Jenna is upping her game preparing to be a big sister! Watch how gentle she is (after the minor slip of banging my head with her horns) as she snuggles up over my shoulder. Gwen has got a really cool family waiting for her including my human daughter Rousseau and son Christian. And poor Mallory is having a rough first trimester but fortunately this is her last week of taking hormones related to doing IVF, so fingers crossed things will be getting much better soon.
