Hey @LightBurnLaser - any insights on if/when compatibility for this machine is going to happen? I'm literally holding onto my old CO2 laser just to keep Lightburn right now 😅

@debreuil Worth mentioning: “space triggers the last button” is Windows default behavior, not LightBurn’s. If a button can hold the keyboard focus, Space will re-trigger it, in any application.

Yes, but that shouldn't be default. I've switched on the original machine, but was off again when making a wireless version. Coming out of sleep mode at my desk started a fire on the other side of the shop. Why would anyone want the space bar to activate the last button pressed coming out of sleep mode? (or ever for that matter?).

I love @LightBurnLaser but it has a serious problem where coming out of sleep mode (with space or whatever) can cause the laser to start. There is a setting to turn this off, but it's default on all new setups. Very dangerous for both eyes and fires, doubly so with wireless.

@debreuil Many people use the space bar to trigger repeated jobs. We actually deactivated this and people begged us to put it back, hence the toggle switch. Enabling “don’t start on wake” by default is a decent idea though.

@Landi683 We’re very close, and planning to do a public release candidate soon (hopefully within weeks). The core is solid and usable already, and we’re into all the little cleanup tasks now before release, we hope. :)

@Renedric That’s a standard thing provided by the online sales platform we use. We’ve only ever used it for reseller discount codes for companies purchasing bulk licenses. We price the software at what we think is fair, and that’s it.

@LightBurnLaser You dont do promotions at all? why have a promo code box at checkout?

@toThaBeebs I’m not aware of any laser that has such a feature, no, but it also sounds like you’re thinking of leaving it unattended which is an incredibly bad idea - the fire risk is real.

@LightBurnLaser can I turn the laser off when it is done via a setting so I don't have to spend 20hrs waiting for it to turn off?

@LightBurnLaser How does one get their license key if they purchased a while back and have misplaced the key from that purchase.

@gertclaes1 Most likely your license was deactivated because something on your computer changed “enough”. OS update can sometimes do this, but it’s trivial to fix.

@gertclaes1 What did LightBurn support say when you emailed? I could have you post your key here so I can look it up, but that might have some complications. :)

@LightBurnLaser hey guys, just a question: if I bought a license 2 years ago, why do I have to pay again now? I was under the impression that this was a lifetime license…

@Timmit99 @ottersdangerden It will continue to work. It won’t get updates after 1.7.xx patches, but we’re not shutting off licensing for it, and all Linux versions will still be available for download on our servers. Not ideal, and we get that, but making sure folks get that it won’t just switch off.

@ottersdangerden Damn... it was real nice to have @LightBurnLaser software running on the same RasPi that I was running the laser cutter from. Old Laptop touchscreen, RasPi mounted on the back running Klipper with desktop Raspbian, and a single USB cable to the control board.

Well if you want to use light burn you get to deal with glue eating operating system or pay out the nose for a fashion statement . I use it on old hardware to run jobs on the machine. I can still do that for now buuuut may now always work.

@repkord @DreadMakerAdam @OpenSauceLive We all do this - every time I get a good chunk of alone time with no pesky notifications I dump out some cool new toy. For example, Warp and Deform were written on a flight.
