Most chains are built by people who studied finance from the outside. @pharos_network was built by people who actually ran it from the inside. As someone building in Web3 through @TheDAOLabs, this is one I couldn't scroll past. The founders came out of Ant Group (Alipay) and Microsoft Research, combining real-world financial infrastructure with deep technical expertise. If you don’t know Alipay, here’s what that means in real terms. It’s a payment platform serving over one billion users in China alone. On a single shopping day, Singles Day, their systems processed 544,000 transactions per second without going down. Not a controlled test. A live, high-stakes environment where failure wasn’t an option. These are the people who built and maintained that. That kind of pressure shapes a different level of thinking. They didn’t leave to chase a trend. They left to solve a gap most of Web3 couldn’t handle, the gap between how traditional finance moves and what blockchain can realistically support. Most chains weren’t designed for institutional finance. @pharos_network was. So what does that look like in practice? The network targets 50,000+ transactions per second. Not as a vanity metric, but as the level of throughput required for global financial systems to operate at scale, compliantly. That’s what makes it possible for real-world institutions, not just crypto-native projects, to seriously build here. The backing reinforces that direction. $52M raised, including support from Sumitomo Corporation, a Japanese conglomerate with over 400 years of operating history.
