we are witnessing the facebookification of youtube bit by bit the platform is just becoming a bullshit slop app completely losing sight of why anyone ever even began to use it and will eventually fall out of favor after seeming like an unbeatable industry giant just years before of course meta lucked out because the app that replaced facebook, instagram, is still owned by them, but tiktok is well on its way to replace youtube in terms of where young people choose to view content and youtube knows this, and is pandering to the senile boomers and lowIQs still mindlessly drooling away on its plaform (just like facebook did) who aspires to be a "youtuber" anymore, it's all either tiktok fame or kick streamer if someone wants online attention. all of the biggest influencers of Gen-Z and Gen-Alpha are deplatformed from it anyway. they completely killed this website lol, i predict if anything manages to bring back long form content online it might actually be x if they eventually decide to give it a working UI for such a thing (massive gap in "the everything app") "load up some youtube playables" what a fucking JOKE. i can not imagine anyone but the most pan-eyed pakistani mom or neurodegenerative boomer clicking away at this bullshit. it's genuinely OVER for this platform as anything culturally significant
