Varsity baseball lost a heartbreaker to SJO 1-3 in the final inning. @FinnRandolph was sensational on the mound for the Bulldogs. Randolph held the Spartans at bay through 6 1/3 innings, allowing only one hit and holding them scoreless. Only one Spartan reached base during those 6 1/3 innings. Also impressive was Randolph's defense, as he fielded his position with extreme precision. The Bulldogs got on the board in the second inning when Miles Woolsey sent one over the fence for a home run. In the 7th inning, Randolph got the leadoff hitter to ground out. A series of defensive miscues and timely Spartan hits led to the Spartans plating three runs to take the lead, which would hold through the bottom of the 7th inning. The Bulldogs look to bounce back on Saturday at home, where they will host a round robin. The first game is at 11 a.m., and the second game is at 3 p.m.
