Students normally start each ks3 #computing lesson with a lesson with a keyword game linked to their current target. The two favourite games are flappy word and snake. Today a student proudly showed me how they'd hacked the code for snake to make it rainbow coloured! 🤯👩‍💻🧑‍💻👩🏿‍💻🧑🏿‍💻

First big trip of my career complete! An awesome time was had by our CS students at @tnmoc today. VR, retro games, AI and of course the awesome history of computers which blew Year 9’s mind! Thanks to Storm and her awesome team for putting on a great day. We’ll be back! #tnmoc

I am looking for that film/Documentary about the Post Office that was in my 'to do list' for this HT, but I can't remember the name... I believe it was on itv4? or maybe Channel4? Does anyone know what I mean? I believe there was an error in the algorithm...

@csteachian @missionencode An action on my to do list is to see if I can reduce the gap between top and bottom screen so that the top screen is a little lower. Also, the actual computer is on the back of the bottom screen so more desk space too.

@csteachian @missionencode The top screen is quite high so not good for lengthy sessions as it might give neck ache, but then that's not a major issue in lessons as they're not looking at them for that long. Its great for having worksheets / instructions on and using the bottom screen for running code etc

@missionencode - you recently asked if my students had any feedback on using your web site to independently progress their Pyton skills - they are really engaged and loving it! This is from a couple of my Y9's

@MrOW_CS @TsuiAllen Thanks - that's all I can see too from Lego, but that looks like it will appeal to younger years more than secondary. I'm going to look at VEX robots at BETT tomorrow as an alternative. Shame about Mindstorms 😔

@MrOW_CS @TsuiAllen @SmallpeiceTrust I was disappointed to learn that they have discontinued the Lego Mindstorm robots as I'd planned to get some for a KS3 robotics club. Was there a mention of anything new in the pipeline in that space?

@TsuiAllen Having had a Lego training day on Friday through @SmallpeiceTrust I can assure you it’s worth it! They have a Coding Success programme which is what I did, have a look as it’s really exciting
