Pheasant drives are in full swing. Smallacombe, its usual quality & revamped Lillybank showing great birds. Pitcombe Head still beating the guns often shooting at 10 to 1. Partridge are surprising us; 101 shot off Beggars Knapp today & a Lillycombe record of 221 off Oare Post.

Big changes in the weather at Lillycombe as we get ready to start our pheasants. Violent storms and 4 days of rain have unsettled our partridge. We hope for some respite this week. Lucky we aren't on again until Friday.

Our season is underway with the partridge flying beautifully and the winds this week could make for some interesting sport. Guests are arriving in all sorts of transport.

Estate owner Rupert Martin and wife Jenny, who were married on 7th August, are looking forward to their second season at Lillycombe.
