Former Sinn Féin TD and academic Kathleen O'Callaghan passed away in St. John’s Hospital on this day 1961. She was an advocate for women's rights and a senior lecturer at Mary Immaculate College. She had married Mayor Michael O'Callaghan, who was murdered in her presence in 1921.

#OTD in 1889.. Letter sent from Midlothian, Scotland to James Frost, George Street, #Limerick , stating that £5 is to be loaned to A. Cotter to purchase clothes for 2 of his sons for the voyage to join a daughter in America. The daughter had sent money for the passage.
