To everyone who’s been checking in on me — My dad passed away on the 13th. It’s been a heavy few weeks. Two years ago I lost my mom. Now him. The weight of that is something I’m still learning how to carry. As the firstborn son, the responsibility of burying my father falls on me. I’m 21. I won’t pretend I have it all figured out, but I’ll show up for him the way he showed up for me. I’ll be back when the dust settles. Thank you for the love. It means more than you know. Much love ❤️, Chidile

@0xAfroTechBoss I can relate to how hard it is to admit and express this hard truth. You're a Hero Chidile... Cheers to more moments of making her proud of you.

Exactly 1 year ago... I watched my world fall apart, I felt empty, cried nonstop for over a week, and asked myself how life would be without my Mom 🕊, the most lively, funny, and full of energy person I know. After I got an admission letter from the university I applied to 4 years back, I told my Mom, "I will start paying my school fees, I'm going to come back very successful even if I don't come back with a First Class, and maybe I might not even come back until I'm fully done with my university education so I don't get distracted and too comfortable." Mind you, this University is on the other side of Nigeria, very far from Lagos. She wished me well and prayed that my big dreams come true. When I was telling her all I planned to do, I didn't even have ₦100 to my name 😂, of course, I was still very young (very far from 18), but I still didn't let age bring me down. Fast forward to 2 years later, I was making enough and sending money to her and my siblings every month, almost every week. She didn't need my money, and neither did my siblings. We all live very comfortable lives, but I just did so to show them that I didn't forget or give up. I only see my mom once a year, during the Christmas break, but this only lasts at most 2 weeks. Meaning out of 365 days we only saw each other for 14 days or less before I went back to school. I didn't think much of it at that time because we talked almost every day, even days I thought that, Omo this woman too dey call person. But I still loved every bit of it. Fast forward to last year, I was happy I was going to come back home for my IT program and stay for 6 months. I called my dad and told him to get ready for my arrival 2 weeks later, but he shouldn't tell my mom or siblings, so we could surprise them. I was still writing my exams when I made the call. 1 week after I made the call, I got the news that I had just lost my mom the night before. "That's not possible, I spoke to her and my dad the day before, telling them about a huge gig I got with a fashion brand. She sounded very happy and was going to the market when we were laughing and talking about God-knows-what." That's what I kept saying. During her burial I came back home and looked at her picture, because it reminded me of her smile, her laugh, her food, her jokes, her roasting sessions 😂(when she starts to yab me for no reason) and I just think to myself this wasn't what we planned, I was coming to see you surprised and happy, not lying here lifeless. I can't believe I'm crying while writing this 🥲. Anyways, guess who bounced back 100x stronger and ready for life. GM Friends ✌

I’m not a dev... I’m just a curious Web3 girl with passion for telling stories, and zero interest in writing 500 lines of code 😭 But I do care about this space. And that’s how I found Lisk. And I'll be explaining why you should be on @LiskHQ ecosystem as well. 🧵⬇️

Day 20 #100DaysOfCodeAndDesign @SarcasticGeek4u Back in business! My laptop's fixed and I'm picking up where I left off on that coding challenge. Didn't let downtime stop me, though - took online classes on my phone and just built a sleek landing page on my first day back.

Day 4 of #100DaysOfCodeandDesign @SarcasticGeek4u Progressing, I explored text formatting tags such as <h1> to <h6> for heading and <p> for paragraphs. I also looked at lists(ordered and unordered). I did a practice creating nested lists for a better understanding of structure.
