Let’s delve into the amazing anatomy of the back muscles! 📚 The back is a crucial part of our body, providing stability, support, and flexibility. Let’s explore each group and understand their roles! 🏋️‍♂️ 1️⃣ Superficial Back Muscles: These are the muscles you can easily see and feel on the surface of your back. 💪 🔸 Trapezius: This large, kite-shaped muscle extends from the base of the skull down to the mid-back. It helps control shoulder movements and supports your neck and head. 🔸 Latissimus Dorsi: Widely known as “lats,” these broad muscles cover the lower and middle back. They play a significant role in shoulder and arm movements like pulling, lifting, and swimming. 🔸 Rhomboids: These smaller muscles lie between the shoulder blades and are essential for retracting and stabilizing the scapulae. 2️⃣ Deep Back Muscles: The deep muscles lie beneath the superficial ones, providing essential support and precision. 💡 🔹 Erector Spinae: This group runs alongside the spine and consists of three muscles: iliocostalis, longissimus, and spinalis. They play a vital role in maintaining posture, back extension, and lateral flexion. 🔹 Multifidus: These small, deep muscles span across individual vertebrae and provide stability and precise movements of the spine. 🔹 Rotatores: These tiny muscles also run between adjacent vertebrae and assist in rotating and stabilizing the spine. 🔹 Semispinalis: This muscle group is involved in various movements, including head and neck extension, rotation, and lateral flexion. 🔹 Splenius: These paired muscles extend from the upper back to the neck and are responsible for neck and head extension and rotation. 📚Knowledge is strength, and understanding your body empowers you to achieve your fitness goals! 💪 #rockblade #kinesiotaping #areskinesiologytape #kinesiotape #athletictape #rocktape #yestokttape #spidertechtape #curetape #kttape #rocksauce #thalgau #sportrehab #kinesiotapingmethod #arestape #curetape #anatomy #humananatomy #athletictraining #athletictrainers #muellerready #mullerkinesiologytape #mullerkinesiotape

5 moves to mobilise your hips + why you need to introduce them into your practice 🙌🏽 When hips are tight, they increase the load and cause overuse of the spine. In addition to the benefits of improved range of motion and circulation and decreased back pain, opening the hips can create an energetic shift or release as well. Why Are The Hips Important In Running? The hips are important because they give us balance and drive. They connect our core muscles and our legs. If the hips are not moving efficiently, the legs will not have the power or speed necessary to run well. A hip opening pose is a yoga posture that stretches the muscles around the hip joint and pelvis, including the buttocks, hamstrings, inner thighs, groin, and abdomen. These muscles are often tight from long periods of sitting, which can lead to lower back pain and other issues. By stretching and strengthening these muscles, you will be able to move more freely and comfortably through your poses, as well as have more mobility and range of motion in daily life. . . #hipopener #hipstretch #hippain #backpain #tightback #yogahacks #yogapractice #backpainrelief #yogahacks #hipmobility #mobilitymatters

My 91 yr old Mom ifeels much more youthful than her years. Her definition of life is being able to live independently on her own terms. Sleeping in her own bed, driving herself to wherever she wants to go. Taking care of herself. She is able to do this for several reasons. The Grace of God and how he has blessed her. Consistent physical activity. Getting off the couch when her body tells her to move. Choosing to eat healthy even at times even when she has no appetite, knowing when to rest, engaging her mind and doing all of this even when she doesn’t want to. She is living life on her terms. How do you want your golden years to look Are you doing the work Health is the ultimate wealth #91 #goals #aginggracefully #mymom #seniorfitness

Do you have disc herniations or sciatica🫠 Do this right now 👇 Lay face down on a table with your hips hanging off of the end. 👀 Extend one leg up as high as you can. When you lift higher, you activate your lowest erector spinae, which likely needs some strengthening. When these muscles contract, they hold your spine in a more extended position, thus keeping pressure off of your discs. Feel free to take the leg up as high as you can. Repeat on the other side. Voila💥

Imagine a muscle under constant strain, like when working long hours at a computer. Over time, this tension builds up, forming a trigger point. Picture a busy road with a car suddenly parked in the middle, causing a traffic jam. Similarly, stressed muscles have these jam points where fibers contract and don't relax. These knots can disrupt your day. However, there's a solution. In massage therapy, techniques like myofascial release are applied to alleviate these knots. It's akin to removing the obstructing car and letting traffic flow. The relief you feel when these knots are addressed can be immense, leaving you flexible and pain-free. Have you ever experienced trigger points

🚨Hip, Groin, Adductor Work🚨 Many athletes find themselves having painful hips, groin and adductors from their sport! It’s a highly susceptible spot for injuries due to the nature of most sports Range of motion and strength in this region is essential for making sure your playing and not sitting watching due to injury Increasing range of motion in these areas will also increase your performance whether it’s throwing faster, jumping further, covering more space laterally etc. Another tool used to bulletproof the groin! Get after it Great post by @kameronbags #lateral #lateralmovement #adductors #hips #hipmobility #adductorstrength #groin #groinmobility #strength #power #speed #sprint #fast #movement #mobility #sportsperformance #sportsperformancetraining #sportsperformancecoach #sportspecific #athleticdevelopment #athletictraining #athlete #frontal #mandatorymobility #mobilization #groinpain #strengthandconditioning #athletics #athletictraining #athletics #adductorstretch
