I am so sorry that your mum suffered so terribly. My father passed away in 2021 after spending a month in hospital during which time we were not allowed to see him. He was being treated for a bowel infection following a stroke. He walked to the ambulance but came home in a wheelchair. He had lost over a stone in weight. His consultant had signed dad’s DNR without dad’s or our consent. After two weeks at home his GP sent me to collect an ‘end of life’ kit even though dad had said he wanted to live. The GP told my dad he was dying. It was the worse experience of my life watching dad fade away. The drugs took away his voice and he could only drink from a sponge. District nurses refused to come out after I begged them to check on dad and he died the same evening. They turned up the next day asking for the return of the syringe driver! My mum was so distraught that she didn’t want me to pursue the events whilst dad was in hospital. I’ve also found Jacqui on X. ❤️🙏
