Hole 17- Kiln: A tough closing par 4, with a downhill tee shot into the wind requiring precision to avoid the left bunker. The approach over guarding bunkers makes par a very good score here.

Hole 16- Quarry: A strong birdie chance, but risk is ever-present with a tee shot over the marker stone to a sloping fairway. The approach must carry the bunker, with a fast green ahead and the exposed quarry lurking to the left.

Hole 15- Farm: An uphill tee shot over gorse demands accuracy to avoid the left-side bunker. The downhill approach to a fast, sloping green tests your judgement, making accuracy essential.

Woodsetts: Our par 5 14th provides a great birdie opportunity for long hitters, but with strategic bunkering around the lay-up, careful planning is required to set up a clean approach to the green.

Hole 13- Long: A demanding par 4 where a shaped drive is needed to avoid bunkers and the old quarry. The uphill approach plays longer than it looks, with the elevated green adding extra yardage to your second shot.

Lindrick: A deceptively tough hole, with a tee shot over and between gorse demanding accuracy from the start. The downhill approach leads to a quick, undulating green - remarkably the only one on the course without bunkers.

Short: New for 2025, this hole returns to its original direction, with a tee shot over undulating, gorse-lined ground to a well-guarded green. Distance control is vital, as bunkers and a sharp run-off combine with exposed winds to test your approach.

Thorn: The 8th hole at Lindrick Golf Club, our shortest Par 4, features a tee shot over undulating ground with gorse and long grass. Accuracy is key for the second shot to a well-guarded green.

Dale: The 7th hole at Lindrick Golf Club, designed by Willie Park Jnr, features a tough tee shot over gorse and 2 cavernous bunkers, with thick rough to the right. A large greenside bunker and a sloping green make for a challenging second shot.

A thoroughly enjoyable day was had by the Ilkley men’s team who played against our friends from Lindrick Golf Club. The team was given a very warm welcome prior to the match on Lindrick’s magnificent course. This was followed by a superb lunch with plenty of fun and laughter.
