Everyone can build a SaaS in 3 days! Not everyone can operate and improve it for 15 years, boot-strapped and funded only from positive cashflow...

Happy 15th Birthday LRT! Today marks a milestone that's close to our hearts at .@lrt_company (LRT) — it's our 15th anniversary! Launched on this day in 2009, on the magic date 09/09/09 LRT has evolved from a pioneering link-building tool into the premier platform for link audits and fixing Google penalties with our renowned Link Detox product. This journey has been rich with learning, from the ins and outs of SaaS to the depths of SEO and the critical importance of link strategies. The most resounding lesson we've embraced is clear: Google cannot ignore the power of links. Despite varied opinions and the noise in the SEO community suggesting otherwise, the significance of links in SEO has not diminished. They remain crucial, not just in presence but in how their quality, criteria, and acquisition are evaluated. Our recent surge in users, seeking remedies for issues like the "March Core Update" and "August Core Update," attests to the ongoing relevance of robust link strategies. We've been more than confirmed by recent revelations from Google API leaks, proving what we and the seasoned SEO community have known and implemented for over a decade. It's really gratifying to see that the truths we've based our tools on are now acknowledged universally, even as some continue to discuss these principles at leading SEO conferences as if newly discovered :-) A bit amusing, indeed. We watch that hype sitting in the back and giggle a bit. Ironically, many of these same conferences had prematurely dismissed the importance of links, neglecting them entirely in agendas for nearly a decade based on hear-say of a few SEO influencers and Google spokesmen defending their weakest spot until today. Yet here at LRT, we’ve stayed committed to the truth about SEO for so long, a dedication that our loyal customers, who chose to focus on what truly matters rather than fleeting trends, have deeply appreciated. Reflecting on these 15 years, our success story is not just about our innovations or the shifts in the SEO landscape. It's profoundly about people — the brilliant, driven individuals who've been part of this journey. Some of these exceptional minds continue to work with me on exciting new projects like AIPRM, leveraging our cumulative knowledge and experiences, like .@btibor91! To our community of users, collaborators, and visionary thinkers— thank you so much! Your trust and partnership have been instrumental in reaching this landmark. Here’s to continuing our journey, learning and leading in the ever-evolving world of SEO. Here's to many more years of success and innovation together!

Unpopular opinion: Don't launch (too) early! .@lrt_company (LRT) was not an "overnight success" or a "viral sensation" unlike .@AIPRMcorp which gained 20,000 users after 3 days, 1 million after 4 weeks, and over 1.5 million after 8 weeks. In fact, when we launched on 09/09/09, it was far from the "magic" the date suggested. We used a waiting list, as many companies do today 15 years later, to slowly let new users in. The reality was that LRT had terrible performance, a poor UI and UX, and was generally unfit for use by hundreds of users in parallel. It took years of learning and much better engineering to develop an LRT software that became popular. Some of the many disappointed users from 2009 returned only in 2011! If anything, LRT is a prime example of why you should NOT launch early, contrary to what startup enthusiasts, VCs, and others often suggest. The only reason .@AIPRMcorp worked so well so quickly was that the majority of the technology, software, code libraries, hardware, and network infrastructure were already in place. #startups #mvp #software #it #launch

Just came across this very interesting moment, again. John Muller on how bad links could influence algorithmic ranking problems and how proactive disavowing can help. Of course only for "some webmasters" (those aggressive Niche Site SEOs, for example...?) #seo #links #disavow

Gentle SEO Reminder: If you delete or move content from 1 URL (to another) you affect the target of - Clicks - Impressions - Links You need to create a (301) redirect. Google may list another URL some day, or not. But nobody is going to update those links. There are tools.

If "helpful content" is judged as sitewide per subdomain signal, then moving poor content to a sudomain with redirects for inbound links could avoid deleting too much content. Then see how the subdomain performs, continue review. Also link penalties are on subdomain level.
Danny Sullivan@dannysullivan

@stonetemple @searchliaison We tend to see subdomains apart from root domains but it can also depend on many factors.

Google announced a defect in Google Search Console was fixed, that labeled pages as being indexed when they were not indexed. It appears this defect only affected Google Search Console frontend. The data received via API in URLinspector looks good, from what we can tell. 1/3

The Google Penguin update is 10 years old today, it wasn't originally called the Penguin update but Google named it shortly after it went live - here is my original story on it and we have a special theme on @seroundtable today for the day seroundtable.com/google-webspam…

What are Scraper Links? Scraper links are acquired automatically from domains running blackhat software. These links are often not to worry about due to obvious patterns. #seo #link #spam #scraper #disavow #backlinks

@iqseo @rustybrick @JohnMu This. Seems many people look at "Theglobe" scraper spam, believing those are the most dangerous links and bring up, correctly, how easy those are to spot. Those are 1 click to disavow for 10000s. Some even ignore them. But better safe, than sorry, right?

There is no best SEO because no one is the best at every aspect of the industry. No one knows it ALL and can implement across EVERY platform. There is likely a best local SEO, a best black hat SEO, a best EComm SEO etc.. Not THE best SEO.
