Mashable coverage secured with DR91, an estimated 12.2M monthly organic traffic, and a dofollow link that carries serious SEO weight. This is the kind of digital PR win that builds credibility, visibility, and brand trust at scale.

Google’s latest guidance makes one thing very clear. AI search is not some totally separate game with a completely new rulebook. Google explicitly says that SEO is still relevant because its generative AI features are rooted in core Search ranking and quality systems. That’s important because a lot of the market is currently chasing shiny objects. People are talking about AEO, GEO, llms.txt files, special AI markup, chunking content, rewriting everything for machines, and trying to reverse engineer every possible AI answer. Google’s guidance basically pours cold water on a lot of that. The most interesting section for me was the part about inauthentic mentions. Google says its generative AI features can show what is being said about products and services across the web, including blogs, videos, and forums, but that seeking inauthentic mentions across the web is not as useful as people might think. That line is doing a lot of heavy lifting. Because this is exactly where I think dodgy link building 2.0 is going to happen in the AI era. Instead of people buying awful guest posts for links, they’ll start buying awful “mentions” on random websites, fake forums, thin blogs, AI-generated listicles, and anything else they think might get scraped or cited by an AI model. Same game. New wrapper. But the underlying principle has not changed. Google is still talking about high-quality content, spam systems, relevance, originality, and whether the wider web is saying something meaningful about you. And this is why I still believe the greatest long-term visibility asset in both SEO and AI SEO is genuine authority. Not fake mentions. Not mass-produced AI content. Not spammy listicle placements that exist purely to manipulate a model. I’m talking about real, editorially earned, tier-one media mentions. The type where a journalist quotes you as an expert. The type where your name, your company, and your expertise appear together in trusted publications that people, search engines, and AI systems can all recognise as meaningful authority signals. And honestly, we’re seeing opportunities right now that I don’t think we’ve ever seen before. We are getting clients featured in the sort of publications that used to feel almost impossible to access consistently. Major media. High-authority sites. Real journalist-led articles. Proper editorial coverage that builds trust, visibility, and credibility at the same time. That’s the bit people need to understand about AI search. The future is not just about being technically optimised. It’s about being a brand, person, or company that the wider web has a reason to trust. Google’s guidance talks about unique viewpoints, non-commodity content, technical clarity, crawlability, strong page experience, and avoiding artificial tactics. All of that is useful. But the bigger signal is this: AI visibility is going to reward brands that are genuinely talked about, cited, referenced, and trusted in the right places. That’s where real digital PR becomes so powerful. Because when your brand is consistently mentioned in respected media, in relevant contexts, alongside genuine expertise, you’re not just building links. You’re building the evidence trail that search engines and AI systems can use to understand who you are, what you do, and why you should be trusted. And that’s the opportunity right now. While everyone else is looking for hacks, we’re doubling down on the boring thing that has always worked, but now has even more upside. Real authority. Real coverage. Real mentions in places that actually mean something.

Most people think PR is just “getting featured.” But proper Authority PR is much more layered than that. It’s about turning experts into trusted voices across the exact places their market, journalists, buyers, search engines and AI tools already pay attention to. A snapshot of what that can look like 👇 💣 A real estate brokerage quoted in national property stories about mortgage trends, home valuations, HOA fees, accessible home design, retirement cities, vacation homes and celebrity property sales 💣 A mortgage expert featured across lending, housing and finance media on VA loans, crypto underwriting, non-QM lending, AI-shaped income and changing buyer behaviour 💣 A legal expert positioned in national commentary around AI search, criminal defence, family law, patient refusal, fraud risk and modern legal strategy 💣 A mental health and recovery expert earning coverage in lifestyle, retail, dating and wellness publications on limerence, staff mental health, emotional regulation and relationship psychology 💣 A travel brand placed in consumer travel stories around baggage fees, car rental issues, second-city travel and airport cost pressures 💣 A personal finance expert appearing in retirement, grocery saving, heating bill, Social Security and budgeting features 💣 A home and interior design expert used in articles about curb appeal, exterior finishes, thrifted decor, garden privacy, climbers, hardscaping and resale value 💣 A healthcare and aesthetics expert cited around surgical wait times, heart health, treatment access and patient decision-making 💣 A business and HR expert positioned in articles about global workforce management, hiring guidelines, founder resilience and scaling challenges 💣 A tech and SaaS brand earning coverage on interactive document security, corporate waste, guest data risk and business process change 💣 A real estate expert appearing on national TV, giving the brand the kind of authority signal most competitors will never get near 💣 Podcast appearances that build personality, not just backlinks 💣 Bylined articles that turn a client from “quoted expert” into the named author trusted to lead the conversation 💣 Syndicated coverage that pushes the same authority signal across multiple publications and markets 💣 Unlinked mentions that still build brand visibility, with follow-up outreach to turn mentions into links where possible 💣 Coverage across household-name publications, niche trade sites, national news, finance media, property media, lifestyle titles and industry-specific outlets That’s the difference. Authority PR is not one random quote in one random article. It’s a body of proof. Proof that your brand belongs in the conversation. Proof that journalists trust you. Proof that your expertise is attached to the topics you actually want to own.

I believe there is a short window where SEOs can rank and bank at a scale the likes of which has never been possible before. Codex + Linear + SEO Knowledge Skills = 📈 This is a local rank and rent play that I launched 2 weeks ago. So far... ➡️ 162 indexed pages ➡️ 841 impressions ➡️ 3 clicks Keep in mind this is an extremely lucrative local niche, and leads could be worth tens of thousands of $$$. The strategy for this has been simple 👇 ✅ Connect Codex to Linear ✅ Outline your top-level plan ✅ Ask Codex to write that plan into Linear ✅ Have Codex execute the tasks from Linear ✅ Review frequently The parts that make this work 👇 ✅ Find a great vertical to work in ✅ Conduct extensive research ✅ SOP your top-level SEO-related tasks - Build: Next.js, sitemap, etc. - Content frameworks - Content silos, supporting pages, etc. - Internal linking How this scales 👇 You can agentically knock these out at pace. Double down on the ones that work. Let the others go. Rinse and repeat!

Authority PR is not just about getting quoted. Quotes are great. We love them. But earning bylined author pages takes things to another level. We’ve helped clients secure these on major publications like: 🔥 Inman, one of the biggest real estate websites in the world 🔥 Healthline, one of the biggest health websites in the world Why is this so powerful? ✅ You’re not just mentioned in someone else’s article ✅ You’re trusted to write the article ✅ You get positioned as the expert, not just a source ✅ You build a real authority footprint attached to your name ✅ Google, AI search engines, journalists, and prospects can all see the signal That’s the power of Authority PR. Not vanity coverage. Actual authority building.
