Hot take, I think Alysa cares very much about competing. Shes as stone cold as they come deep down. I also think she coaches herself and Philip/Massimo are just along for the ride.

@vmstagemom I was a huge huge fan of her back then and it’s hard to watch this skating now but being her fan was about more than skating skills. It was about her athletic achievements as a female skater and doing things no woman has ever done.

@vmstagemom I totally get what you're saying but then they shouldn't receive the respect/recognition from feds for being the End All Be All of coaching schools. They should be treated as a finishing school. Stop sending them juniors, etc

i guess it can be argued that they should do more handholding but like... they don't rly coach juniors! grown adults should prob take ownership over their own careers😭 and frankly, any ice dance school is going to be able to do more if a team has a clear vision or Identity

After reading Yuma's interview I do really think Alysa has inspired skaters to reconsider life outside of skating...maybe we will see more breaks in a quad kinda similar to how elite gym is functioning these days 🤷♀️
