In a $100 Trillion Global Economy Millions Still Have No Home Homelessness is not just an American problem it is a global crisis. More than 150 million people worldwide are homeless and over 1.6 billion lack adequate housing, despite a global economy producing over $100 trillion each year. At the same time there are millions of nonprofits operating around the world raising trillions of dollars collectively yet many of the world’s biggest problems still persist. The issue is not a lack of compassion or resources it is fragmentation. Too many organizations working in isolation too many systems that don’t communicate and too many people in crisis forced to navigate disconnected help when they are least equipped to do so. Many individuals are only one emergency, job loss, or medical crisis away from losing everything, and addiction and mental health struggles can trap people in cycles that are incredibly difficult to escape without real support. If we don’t address the root causes housing affordability, addiction recovery, mental health care, economic instability, education, and coordinated support systems homelessness becomes a revolving door where people receive temporary help but eventually end up right back where they started. The world doesn’t lack resources it lacks coordination.
