@Liquid_TMG @punishedmaokser @Igi_POLCOM They essentially did what the french did after ww1, which was creating a dependent ally/vassal to the east, capable of acting as a stop gap for their rivals. Polish nationalists were smart and used it to further unite the polish people and bring the national idea into their mind.

@Marc30188194 @punishedmaokser @Igi_POLCOM yeah but it was due to necessity to not keep it occupied themselves + they didn't want austria to have a Poland (given they already had Galicia) + they wanted to colonize bits of Poland + they also needed polish soldiers to fight in the west
