@jimmybajimmyba @geoffreyhinton Congrats Jimmy. Hinton is legendary. It's a game-changing feeling to be so directly influenced by a Nobel laureate through our daily work rather than some moments in life.

In my 2nd year of grad school, I asked @geoffreyhinton what he’d do after winning a Turing or Nobel Prize. Geoff told me the fabled story about Tim Hunt, a Nobel prize winning biologist. The day after winning the Nobel prize, Tim told his students he’d be less involved in their direct supervision and day-to-day lab work. Then Geoff joked, “Don’t worry, I’m saving you from ‘unsupervised learning.’” Years later, you actually won them both (after retirement)! Well played Geoff!
