Early voting begins this Saturday, October 26 and runs every day through Sunday, November 3. There are 38 Early Voting Centers across Erie County, one in every town, small city, and City of Buffalo council district. Early voting makes it easy to vote. So #GetOutAndVote!

Every community needs more affordable housing. Today, Deputy Co. Exec. @LisaChimera chaired the 3rd Annual @ErieCountyNY Housing Summit to find ways to build more affordable housing. It's working. Hundreds of new units will be available soon as a result of our prior 2 summits.

Deputy County Executive @LisaChimera and I took a great tour of @Odoo's US HQ and operations at 40 Fountain Plaza in downtown Buffalo today. Odoo continues to grow, hiring hundreds in the past few years, with more coming. Thank you Nick Kosinski and TJ Quinn for the great tour!

The City of Buffalo is lifting its travel ban effective 8AM. All of Erie County will now be under a travel advisory, as lake effect snow will continue through 7PM today. NYS will be evaluating the commercial driving ban on the 90 later this morning.

The lake effect snow band is expected to strengthen and move back into the metro area during rush hour. We are recommending businesses close early to allow employees to get home before the band hits.

As I stated to media recently, do NOT call 911 unless it is truly an emergency. Our @ErieCountyNY 911 Call Center has been receiving nuisance calls regarding when travel bans will be lifted, grocery pick-ups and the like. 911 is truly For Emergencies Only.

Lake effect snow band will move north into Niagara county with accumulating snows this morning, then will slowly weaken this afternoon. After that, the band of lake effect snow will move back south again this evening and strengthen . #NYwx

The State of Emergency issued for the recent storm is still in effect in anticipation of the next snow storm to hit tonight. The Travel Advisory (not a ban) is still in effect due to @ErieCountyDPW's large equipment still out widening roads. Please exercise caution on the roads.

The travel ban has been lifted across Erie County, except for the City of Lackawanna and the Towns of Cheektowaga and Lancaster, including the Villages of Sloan, Lancaster, and Depew. We hope to have updates soon regarding those municipalities.

Based on the latest forecast and in consultation with New York State I am rescinding the driving ban for the Towns of Holland, Colden, Sardinia, Concord, North Collins, and Collins.
