What was the flux of extraterrestrial dust during the Ordovician? To answer this, @LisaMeteorites and @GoderisSteven have been sieving through “residue” left behind from dissolving Ordovician limestone in acid. Indeed, although the limestone dissolves, micrometeorites do not! 😃

We are happy to end this week with a daytrip to the Ardennes! During the excursion, our team extracted tens of kilos of limestone in hope of recovering ancient fossil micrometeorites. Their abundance will provide important information on the past flux extraterrestrial "dust"!
