February 14 is Love Your School Library Day! Here is a snapshot of a week in our wonderful library.

This was pretty special. Both teachers and students came out in force. A great way to connect.

Our Mandarin students hosted preschool students and their families in the library for story time today. Activities, games and language (all in Mandarin) in our library. Pretty special.💜

I just bought a library ukulele. We are a busy, vibrant library so was a bit hesitant. I so should not have been.

@ffarokhi Yes- to all these things also playing cards, giant coloring sheets, giant word searches, Chess, UNO, puzzles, needle felting, card making, Keeva planks… just try something and see. Certain activities work at diff’t times. Play is so important for teens.

Calling all ideas for high school SEL/Makerspaces! I have a ton of elementary & middle school items, but now I’m in a high school. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Welcomed almost 100 grade 8 into the LLC during Flex to check in, make new friends and practice (argh) our lock opening skills. Part 2 starts at 8:37 tomorrow! Thx to our amazing Leo’s for the help!

@AndreaDeTerra You will love it. Being an FA was a highlight of my teaching career.

So, next year a big change for me, as I will be a Faculty Associate at SFU. I am excited for a new challenge as I work with student teachers! At the same time, sad to leave MACC Suncrest after nine years! I will miss my creative and wonderful MACC peeps.

We hosted our 3rd visit from the nursing students from @bcit BCIT. Our topic this time was Mental Health & Resilience. Great questions from students. They always impress me. Thx to our wonderful PAC and school @ByrneCreekCS for supporting this Library Lunch Hour Event. @Byrne_LLC

@kelseybogan I don’t design buttons but students do. Canva and Procreate are great aids. Old graphic novels and other graphic texts can also be sliced into fantastic buttons.
