@bennewmark @educationgovuk Lots of parents’ ‘choices’ are based on catchment area. If you can’t afford to move and the school in your area wouldn’t be a choice because of a poor Ofsted rating, is it really a choice if your child has to go there?

@joshhollis I’ve seen a few people take in work bags at night games, so should be fine.

@MichaelRosenYes @canontonyd @ChrisJ1964 @AmandaKendal “Cerberus in via dormit.” My comprehensive school offered Latin in the mid 1990s. Was devastated I couldn’t continue it at A level. Certainly supported my love of history, and my ability to spell and understand the origin of so many words.

@canontonyd @ChrisJ1964 @AmandaKendal I couldn't understand why we kept learning about an agricola who was always in a fossa. There's something bizarre about the way they created a strange Latin-world for 1950s grammar school kids full of farmers in ditches. Wot? Why?
