Lovely to meet you yesterday. Thank you for sharing your story.

This happened today at 4pm in Covent Garden in central Liverpool. Yes there is a Covent Garden in central liverpool. I had been driving for five hours. At 4.15pm I was to close a conference of barristers entitled "Reimagining Family Justice: Innovation, insight and impact in Children Law. It was 4.01pm. The conference was arranged by Unit Chambers "to bring together leading voices in public and private children's law for an interactive day of insight, reform and practical tools.' But back at Covent Garden at 4.03pm I was at the parking machine tapping in my details to pay for and register my car. A woman stood behind me waiting to use the machine. I said she could use the machine. I was using an App. Then after getting her ticket she said "Hello I just want to thank you". I was flustered 300 miles from home. Ten minutes to find the venue. She continued politely "It's just that I read your poem" I interrupted her "I am just inputting... this app... and working out... how long I will be here.... I will be with you.. " It was crucial to get all the details registered but the kind woman was mid sentence "at my husbands funeral." I stopped just as the app accepted my timings credit card and car registration. I apologised clumsily and encouraged her to tell me the story. The poem is called Let there be peace. And the last line tells of how "the waves reach the shore with a shhhhhhh shhhhhhhh shhhhh' Her face lit up "And everyone joined in with the sound" until the place was filled with the echoing noise of the waves on the shore." Because of all the coincidences I said "are you coming to this conference?" And I explained what the conference was and she said "No I didn't even know about it... Maybe I should know about it. After I am a barrister and I work in family law" I said "can I take your photograph and do I have permission to tell this story online?" I arrived at the venue at. 4.13pm. I was in front of the barristers at 4.20pm. And I spoke for an hour. I meant to tell them of this encounter so perfectly fitting the event but I forgot. So afterwards I showed the partners the photo and there she was the wonderful Mrs Fox. #unitchambers
