Today was one of those "look how far I've come" moments. Less than 2 months ago I was in a psych ward, today I stood up at a national conference and used my experience of mental health problems to talk about managing feelings of trauma in practice. Today was a good day

@juliaisobela I'm doing a 3 year part time MEd at the moment and a fair few who started on the PGCert were still FY doctors, we are in year 3 now so they are in specialities now 😊

Has anyone on here done any further degrees alongside working as a FY doctor? I’m looking at starting a part time masters during FY2, wondering how feasible this is. I’m honestly missing studying (maybe slightly masochistically) & there’s a course I’d really like to study

Massive spider crawling on my bed Went to get a cup to catch it in and remove from my house, but lost the spider so now it could be anywhere Guess I should burn down my house or move out immediately now?? 😭😭😭

@RN_Abigail @juliaisobela My standard pick up is "hello labour ward!" Then when they say who it is I say my name... Which is great unless I'm at home on my personal number and answer every call with "hello labour ward" 😂

@juliaisobela Another bleep etiquette pet peeve for me is when you call back and they just say “hello” and no introduction as if you’re supposed to know exactly who/what ward has bleeped from that extension 🥲

One of my biggest pet peeves about being a doctor is the times you get bleeped & you respond immediately, but nobody picks up the phone on the other end Like, where did you go in those 5 seconds it took me to dial? 🥲😭

Heartbroken to hear of Sophie's death. I'm just starting my year of research for my dissertation into supporting neurodivergent student midwives and the conversations I had with Sophie have shaped that massively. She will be in my heart as I write it 💜

@juliaisobela That's what I used to do 😂 would wake up at dinner time, eat some pasta and go straight back to sleep, worked a treat 😂

People told me not to sleep the day I finished nights as I wouldn’t then be able to sleep that night/readjust to normal sleeping Fools on them, I just slept almost 24 hours straight

Just dropping in to say hi after being AWOL on here for many months! I've been busy living life, working and doing a part time masters, all while keeping the lump of jelly in my skull happy, and succeeding! Currently having a 2 week breather in Majorca, and reflecting 💜

Grannies really got it right with tea and soup and knitting and doing puzzles and sitting outside listening to the birds and having a sweet treat and going to bed at 8pm

Day 3 of the snow. Everything is now ice. Road? Ice. Car? Ice. Garden? Ice. Snow? Ice. Me? Ice. Dogs? Ice. My morning view from bed is gorgeous, but the cars are still stuck and I'd quite like a trip to the supermarket soon 😂

I hope you have all had a peaceful Christmas 💜 I worked a lovely afternoon shift on Christmas day (maternity at Christmas is special) after seeing my family briefly in the morning, and then the pups definitely enjoyed their boxing day walk yesterday!
