@chainsawchuu It became more profitable to water down everything around to a suitable for teens level, since that's the level suitable for advertisers. It simply didn't pay off producing teen media - just stretching stuff enough that it's 'fine' for them. Media distribution changed.

@chainsawchuu Yeah, not really. The hate was always there, but it's the shift of online spaces and and media that did it. Executives found that it's cheaper not to market separately for teens, since "teen" stuff like superhero movies started raking in the money in the 2010s. 1/

@breezybar023 @PlaysShanny @glindaupland You still edit a trailer - most trailers don't have the issue of looking washed out. You can color grade 2 minutes of footage independantly - even if the movie will be a bit different it can't possibly be more "off" than the raw. A trailer isn't a bts sneak peek, it's an ad.
