2nd grade Ss struggle with the reading portion of math assignments. I record the problem and offer hints to solving the problem. Everyone works at their own pace instead of staying with me as I read aloud each problem. @Flipgrid #HiddenGems #StudentVoice

It’s hard for me to say no to reading the books to them during their personal reading time. But, I’m so glad I do they help each other read &make up their own stories using the pictures. This is such a big step for learning to read. They need to gain this confidence! #prek #read

Four years ago I was in a hospital recovering from a major heart attack that happened while I was teaching. Stop letting fear keep you in imaginary cages. I quit a toxic job and found a great new one. Life is short. @rickhess99 @NBPTS @NEAFoundation mobile.edweek.org/c.jsp?cid=2592…

Every year we read aloud The Cricket in Times Square. The cricket learns to play classical music on his wings. We were so lucky to have Erica Tursi, our music T’s daughter come play. Making reading come alive through experiences. #TigerStrong @NJEA @NewJerseyDOE @NBPTS @NNSTOY

@ILAToday I love the emotional connection between students and the reader and the great responsibility for interpreting and conveying the meaning and emotion as intended by the author. It builds community- My FAVORITE thing to do!! #ClassroomTales
