@SoerbGames Is the computational overhead mainly in extra samples in the object shader? I'm guessing that you would have to sample the color buffer in a radius around the object to determine direction of light? Or can something like reflection probes / cubemaps be used?

@SoerbGames Nevermind, saw your answer on another post. Using the fluid color buffer, blurred and sampled as a sort of lightmap. Would love to learn more about that, it makes for a convincing realtime GI effect.

This change had me pulling my hair out. They used to all be distinct and easily recognizable by shape and color. Now I find them based on memorizing the order I put them in an app folder.

8) Google's Identical Icons @Google made ALL their app icons look nearly identical: Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Docs—ALL have the same shape and colors. I like the idea of the homogeny, but I can't find the right app w/o reading labels now.

@MisterSaturnus @JanOrszulik I try to keep the mentality of cleaning as you go, like you would cooking in the kitchen. Rarely will you be revisiting prior features if they work as intended, so all you can do is try to make the first effort as clean as possible.

Speaking from professional experience, we only optimize when we have to, like when developing for a platform that has significant limitations, like switch, and only because performance on that platform is a priority. Otherwise our focus, as an evergreen is on retention and onboarding, as you would expect. We have some focus on performance, but it is not major. However we also aren't using DLSS, though I imagine we might in a few years.
