I live in Wiltshire, England. A familiar sound above my house lately are the roaring engines of B-1b Lancer bombers starting their long flight from RAF Fairford to Iran. This morning the sound kicked in just after 8am. The B52s are a regular sound too. While the Middle East feels like a long way away, the sound of those engines remind me how small the world actually is.
