On a Jennings County, Indiana school bus for students with special needs, a nonverbal 7‑year‑old boy with autism was sexually assaulted by 15‑year‑old Landon Doty at least 14 different times while riding his school bus. Investigators reviewed more than 300 hours of bus surveillance video and say key footage from April 16, 2025, shows Doty assaulting the child as they sat together. On March 31, 2026, a Jennings County jury convicted Landon Doty, now 16, on four counts of rape and other related felony charges for what happened on that bus. The child’s family has since filed a federal civil lawsuit against the Jennings County School Corporation, the bus driver, and the bus monitor, alleging they failed to protect a nonverbal, disabled child who could not report the assaults. The boy and his family deserve justice, and this civil lawsuit is justified as a way to hold every responsible institution accountable and push for real protections for disabled children who cannot speak for themselves. 🎥: @wthrcom
