As a drug and alcohol nurse specialist I must say it is dangerous to spite such ill-informed rhetoric. It ignores that specialists would prescribe and oversee patients with addiction. It also ignores that you can buy these drugs now, on the dark web, and we can't win the war on drugs as prohibition ties both hands behind our backs. Heroin, (diamorphine), would be prescribed by specialists, like me, not available to "anyone" in the same way strong medications are available to patients now.

Today’s ruling is an important victory for common sense but it should never have taken a Supreme Court judgment to get here. Sloppy lawmaking and militant activism is creating a world many ordinary people can no longer make sense of. That has to stop and this is a good start. Where well intended laws have created division and uncertainty in society they should be replaced or repealed all together.
