I kind of don’t mind this losing ride Sure if he had it back with hindsight he’d go clear but Kick on and you might win by 6+ and connections won’t be best pleased. Or he might idle & throw it away. You’re only beaten if making a horrible mistake, can’t account for that

@RacehorseOwners A slap across the face of everyone else who doesn't and extremely unlikely to own a grade 1 horse and are scrapping in very competitive low grade races for a pittance in prize money.

@TBJ_Racing Just a crazy rule. You can break it a little bit and keep the race but if you break it by a tiny bit more then horse is disqualified.
Jockey on 2nd keeps within the rules and gets beaten a nose.

Great news that greyhound racing will be banned in Wales! Pushing dogs to their limits for entertainment and profit leaves many with life‑changing injuries - and too often an early death. Westminster should follow suit and call the last lap on greyhound racing.

Everyone would have a different opinion on what is correct. If you are going to have a whip rule then there needs to be a limit and no exceptions. If exceeded then horse is demoted.
