@dieworkwear This is me and the Anthropologie catalogue. I like the clothes, but I love the lifestyle they portray. And they don't suit my life, so I mostly don't buy them. And I know I want to fill my wardrobe with them mostly because I want the life that should come with them.

You don't actually love JFK's style. You love the idea of dense, mixed use, walkable neighborhoods where you can bike, walk, or rollerblade to wherever you need to be. And making enough money to live in a city while having enough free time for hobbies and a lover.

On Feb. 12, 1969, Toronto tested out having "bus bunnies" to make public transit more attractive. The idea was proposed by the Canadian Urban Transportation Conference The idea was only tested for one day before it was abandoned. 📸Toronto Star

That Board of Peace lasted about as long as it took for Trump to get all those membership fees squirrelled away in Qatar.

Just had the germ of an idea for an action movie. Title: Three Guys Walk into a Bar starring Jason Statham, (maybe) Jamie Dornan and Gerard Butler as an Englishman, an Irishman and a Scot. Now all I need is a plot.

Canada's state broadcaster @CBC continues to wallow in ignorance about the Canadian constitution.

@mynamesnotgordy So Liberal voters can continue to pretend to be centrist or (*vomits quietly*) centre-left. Without a Conservative party, they'd be forced to admit that they are voting for the right (or centre-right) option.

The Liberals cancelled the consumer carbon tax and now want to build a pipeline to the BC coast; so why do we even need a Canadian Conservative Party now?

@StephenPunwasi Even with self-serving timing, and even if it was just for the optics, it looks like Guilbeault held true to his principles by resigning over a pipeline. I wish that Catherine McKenna had had the principles to resign over Trans Mountain.

@westcoast_DJ @David_Moscrop It might survive. Northern BC is really far away from Vancouver. The BC voters that voted for Carney might or might not hate the idea (or reality) of a pipeline in northern BC, but it probably won't be a deal breaker.

@David_Moscrop Good for Steven Guilbeault. I lost so much respect for Catherine McKenna when she did NOT resign over the Trans Mountain pipeline. If you are going to run on principles, you should have those principles.

The ’90s saw the longest peacetime boom in modern history. Politicians competed to improve lives—and often agreed on what had to be done. Not a coincidence. Neither is today’s hopelessness as politicians compete using fear & division, pushing for increased state powers.

@gator_gum Yes, and lots of headlines about it in the news. Someone died at one of the camps protesting against the ostrich cull. Also, the government chose an incredibly inhumane way to cull the ostriches.

@StephenPunwasi Also: Katy Perry likes yachts. Justin Trudeau likes Katy Perry. Mark Carney likes Justin Trudeau. Because, I'm pretty sure the tax treatment of yachts wasn't top three on many other people's wish list for the budget.
