The letter asks for clarity on: - Progress on support for the sector, including engagement with Arts Council - A promised comedy roundtable, when this will take place, and what actions will follow - Next steps on the proposed extension of the grassroots music levy to comedy

Yesterday the chair of the Culture, Media and Sport Committee, Dame Caroline Dinenage, wrote to Arts Minister Ian Murray requesting an update on the Government’s commitments to support live comedy ahead of Live Comedy Day on 1 April.
