These next few weeks I am taking over the @MonogramUK Twitter feed! Having switched from the complexities of polyploid wheat to that of hybrid rye, I forward to expanding your horizons, and educating the community! #ryevolution #wheat #rye #breeder #germany #kws

@AngeJayne77 Get bloods done. My iron drops a lot post-marathon, fixing all that muscle damage takes a lot out of your reserves.

That was hard work…felt a bit faint tonight during that run. Maybe my body is telling me I need a few days rest from running 🙁 got a feeling my iron levels are low 😬

Tough one today at London Marathon. 3:46:44. I’m proud that I managed an almost 9 minute PB in that heat 🥵 really not sure how I kept going! A trip to the medical tent at the end because I felt rough but fortunately I came around quite quickly. Feeling good now!

Can now add *Marathoner* to my resume! 💫 One of the hardest races I've ever done, but really proud of how I gritted it out to the finish. Scottish Record, Family Record, and British Champ. Not bad for a debut! 🙏 THANK YOU for the cheers around the course. It was insane!!

@AngeJayne77 Good luck! I am providing race support for a friend running Hamburg marathon. Achilles injury meant I transferred out so won’t be running-it is getting better though! Just entered the ballot for London 2026!!

Injury free during the majority of this marathon block, went for a super steady 5km leg stretch today and went over on my ankle. What’s the chances of that 🫣 hopefully nothing serious 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️ on the plus side, I got my eyebrows done ready for the race 😂

@melkersvard I got prescribed custom insoles by my orthopaedist due to an Achilles injury. They provide temporary relief & got me walking again. However, having done calf exercise, physio & ultrasound, I find my feet have been weakened having worn them, causing my high arched feet to splay.

This thread info is decent, but the prescription is awful advice. Making something custom made worked in the past because people’s feet weren’t messed up. Custom making shoes or insoles today just leads to enhancing people’s deformities (OPs company sells insoles with arch support, which tells you all you need to know)

Your shoes are silently destroying your health. Modern footwear ignores your unique foot structure, leading to: • Crushed toes • Weakened knees • Misaligned joints But this solution from the 1800s will fix your health from the ground up: 🧵

@LizCh @AngeJayne77 I've never been to that stage with Achilles. Plantar most definitely 😬😬😬. It's tough to get athletes to rest. I'd advise keep loading it but giving it loads of rest. Actually wondering if rehab conditioning coach should be my next career move....

I decided to go half a size up in the Pro 4s, I’m going to take them for a test drive on my long run on Saturday. Can’t believe I’m wearing 8.5 size trainers 🤣 These are going to look fab with my black club vest and black shorts on race day 🙌🏻🏃🏼‍♀️

@LizCh @AngeJayne77 Orthotics won't help your feet strengthen up. Ultimately you want to run naturally without them. Lifting the heal up will shorten the Achilles and may cause more issues

@SaraTetraDec @AngeJayne77 Yes, I have read up on this, and it is something I am working on. I also don’t mean heel cushions, it’s the physical shape of the heel of the shoe, and how high the back is, and where it cuts. I would usually opt for cushioned tops due to narrow heels, but this now irritates

@SaraTetraDec @AngeJayne77 Adidas generally come up small! The problem is making room for orthotics, and how the heel cup runs/interacts with my Achilles. Bought new shoes on Thursday, ranging from 42 to 44 depending on the brand 🙃

@LizCh @AngeJayne77 🤔 are you sure you need a 9? Actually having shoes which don't match your foot can cause Achilles problems. Try to be as small as you can

@LizCh It was my first run in 2.5 weeks that was more than strides. I was lucky not to break my ankle when I missed 2 stairs coming out the gym 🙄 but it's so sunny and I couldn't resist

First canal run of 2025... can't believe it's taken me 10 weeks but it was worth it because the sky was blue and the shirt sleeves were out!

@AngeJayne77 The flare up was the incentive I needed to organise manual physio & ultrasound treatment. I realised just how tight my muscles are, so taking up yoga and proper stretching it is…
