My biggest takeaway from these past few days is the fact that Black communities have done public history work for generations and how we as professional public historians need to honor their work and continue to find ways to collaborate with communities in the present #ncph2023

To say that I’m leaving #NCPH2023 fulfilled would be an understatement. So grateful to have shared space with some incredible scholars and practitioners. I feel so motivated and hopeful for the first time in a long time. Like Dr. Momon said today, let’s keep doing the work 🙌🏽

The lack of study of Black museums and the Black women’s preservation movement is holding us back in so many ways. Grateful to have these spaces at #NCPH2023

Happy to be wrapping up my #NCPH2023 with a roundtable about the state of Black Women’s Public History with these incredible women. @DrPreston1913, Tara White, Fath Davis Ruffin, and @Historian_AR . #s41
