Australians of colonial descent did not have an 'historical advantage'. Most were so poor they came to the edge of the world with nothing just to keep breathing. Many arrived in chains. Their crimes were, almost exclusively, poverty. They stole a goat. A handkerchief. Loose change to feed their kids. The rest were 'farmers' or 'settlers' who built their homes from the bush with their bare hands. The convicts built their own prisons. When they got here, if they survived the journey and if they survived the quarantine camps where many died, they lived terribly poor lives. They'd have 14 children and watch all but one or two die. They had wars. A Great Depression. Floods, fires, and droughts with no historical record to tell them if the trauma would end. No government assistance - heck, in those early decades there was no real government at all. For hundreds of years before that - they were European peasants. They starved and died by their millions. They were wiped out by the Black Death, the Sweating Sickness, and religious wars that reached back as far as history. They were used as fodder in civil wars that were really wars between lords, kings, and Parliament. When people say, 'oh those privileged white people' - they have no idea what they are talking about. No group - in the history of the world - has had more state, economic, and social privilege than the current group of Australian Indigenous activists and migrant arrivals. The descendants of European peasants and slaves - who were given nothing and still managed to survive and build a civilisation - are now being taxed back into poverty while their story is erased and the Woke bury them under fabricated guilt.
